Weight loss options are traditionally crummy

Have you ever been dissatisfied with something over a long period of time? Then one day something just snaps and you say, "Enough!!" Just like Popeye did back in the day. (Here it is, for you younger folks)

Well, I recently had a moment like that. I had watched several people I care deeply about use the latest "quick fix" for weight loss. A couple of them did gastric bypass and several did the HCG (500-800 calories per day) diet. Weight came off, but they were not healthy! And when one friend who had been on a more "natural" version of the HCG diet called me in a panic because he was having symptoms resembling a heart attack, I had that Popeye moment... "That's all I can stands! I can't stands no more!!!" I sent my friend straight to the hospital and thankfully he had not had a heart attack. But he (and I) HAD had a wake-up call.

I realized a couple of things: 1. When people are sick of being overweight, they will do all kinds of crazy things to get it off, including living on 500 calories a day or even surgically stapling their stomach. And 2. This decision and determination could be applied to a healthy weight loss plan, too, but it had to be special in its own way and not be just "eat less and exercise more". Well, I could sure as hell come up with a method just as effective as those crazy ones! One that would be fast AND healthy. And in my heart I knew that it was my duty to do so. So I talked with Dr JeNeen and we decided to put our knowledge and experience together to come up with a fast, effective AND healthy program. But first.....

How did we Americans get so overweight, anyway?

Americans have started having higher percentages of body fat since the 1950s, and that trend is growing exponentially.

It's no coincidence that this trend started when our food supply started to change- more processing, more sugar, more convenience and fast foods, more chemicals added to preserve & enhance flavors and most recently, the introduction of genetically modified foods.

As the years have gone by, not only did we become more overweight, but it also became a LOT more difficult for people of ALL ages to lose the fat. Why in the heck is that??! It boils down to these three factors: 1. An increase of inflammation in the body 2. An increase in general hormone disruption (particularly stress hormones, blood sugar regulating hormones and thyroid hormones), and 3. That monster that all the magazines put on the cover to sell more copies..... Belly Fat. I call it a monster because research shows that it actually takes on a life of its own, creating more inflammation and making your body a fat-hoarding machine. And who needs that??!!
